Julie Prusak AKA Green-Eyed Adventuress
Before college, I had rarely traveled beyond the borders of my home state California, except for a few magical trips to Mexico in a Piper Cub piloted by my dad. Those trips sparked my wanderlust and begat a lifetime pursuit of adventure. Airplanes to submarines – the higher, deeper, or more remote the adventure, the more appealing to me.
In college, I became a SCUBA instructor and traveled in search of underwater adventure. Semester at Sea, a multi-country study abroad program, opened my mind to the complexities and contrasts of life beyond American borders. Then after graduation while my more practical friends started corporate jobs or entered graduate school, I traveled the globe on a scholarship stipend, sponsored by Rolex and aptly named “Our World Underwater”.
My corporate career required me to travel. A lot. For years, I racked up frequent flier miles, but spent more time in boardrooms than on beaches. Not surprisingly, I married a man who shares my passion for travel. Together we’ve raised three children whose passports were stamped frequently from an early age. Our family values education and travel provides the most impactful lessons. Travel is not a reward for working, it is education for living. Any time away from school or work offered a new opportunity for adventure. Discovering new places, cultures, foods, and customs is my advocation and now my profession. I own and operate Ethos Luxury Travel and curate exceptional experiences for discerning clients.
Fast forward to today and I’ve traveled to over 125 countries. Some of my most memorable adventures include soaring in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti, climbing the steps at the Great Wall of China, SCUBA diving with sea snakes in the Sulu Sea and gorilla trekking in Rwanda and Uganda. I founded Green-eyed Adventuress to share my passion for travel and wellness with others with the hope that they will be inspired to experience adventures of their own.
